Women's Ultimate 2-3 at Sean Ryan Tournament
Wednesday, November 14, 2007 Over 30 Psychos traveled to Santa Cruz this past weekend for the Sean Ryan tourney, where they warmed up their skills and gave their new rookies a taste of what's to come this winter. Despite unfavorable weather of rain and fierce winds on Saturday and Sunday, the Psychos played well through five games, emerging victorious in two of them against UC Davis and Santa Clara. The psychos faced Stanford's team X in their 1st game on Saturday. Although initially down during the first half, the psychos did not give up the fight easily, making long points in the second half and taking the game all the way to soft-cap. After their warm-up with Stanford the psycho's were ready to roll against UC Davis in their second game, beating them 10-5. In their last game of the day against Sonoma state, the psychos played good offense but worsening weather conditions including rain made play more difficult and the disc slippery. While the psycho's kept the game going until they were the last on the field, Sonoma state pulled ahead to win 10-8. On Sunday, although the rain had stopped, winds picked up, making throwing more difficult. Nonetheless the psycho's remained unfazed by bad weather, winning their first game of the day against Santa Clara 15-7. The psycho's faced Stanford again on Sunday, but played their Y-team. With four games under their belt, the psycho's did not let Stanford win easily. Down by only one point at half time, the psycho's traded points with Stanford taking the game again to caps. Unfortunately, despite some awesome playing by the rookies Stanford came out on top once again, ending the game 13-10.More Headlines: There are no more headlines. ![]() |
