Kim Cullip advances to Equestrian National Finals to represent UCSD
Wednesday, April 16, 2008 On April 12th, Laura Erickson and Kim Cullip traveled to Twin Falls, Idaho to compete in the Zone 8 Hunt Seat Championships. Erickson rode in the Intermediate Flat division, having qualified earlier in the year. After a very long and close class, she placed third, just short of advancing to Nationals. Only the top two riders from each class will compete at Nationals. In the Novice Fences class, Kim Cullip drew a horse that was deemed unsuitable to ride. She was then granted a re-ride on a new horse and placed fourth. Later in the afternoon, Cullip returned to ride in the Novice Flat division, where she won first prize, making her the only Triton to represent UC San Diego in the Nationals Finals in May.More Headlines: Apr 2 - UCSD Equestrian Team's Leah Keegan to compete in Nationals Mar 11 - Equestrian Captains Headed for Zone Finals Mar 4 - Equestrian Rides in Final Show of Season There are no more headlines.  |
