Team Overview

The UCSD Dance Team has been competing since 1998 and has consistently ranked in the top ten teams in the nation for Division II collegiate dance teams. We compete at the internationally recognized NDA and USA collegiate cheer and dance competitions as well as other regional competitions throughout the year. In addition to our competitions, the Dance Team actively participates in school related activities and community sponsored events. We perform at school festivals such as Fall Festival on the Green, Sungod, Admit Day and Triton Power Hour. We also support our athletic teams by performing during games.

Our style consists primarily of jazz dance, but we do have elements of hip hop, lyrical and pom. We actively recruit dancers with a strong background in technical dance and a love for performing. This is a unique team, which requires the strong dedication and creativity of its students. This is an excellent team for those who want to continue their passion for dance and competition well into their college years. Our tryouts are held twice a year, once in the Fall and once in the Spring for the following school year.
