April 30, 2009 Dance Team Auditions!!!When: 05/17/09 from 6pm to 11pm Where: Rimac Activity Room 2 We generally look for dancers who are technically trained in Jazz, but also can demonstrate other dance styles as well like Hip-Hop and Contemporary. We love to see great dancers that have personality and poise when dancing at the same time! At the try-out session you will be learning a series of short technique combinations and then will be judged based upon dance skills and stage presence. Dance Team Places 7th in the Nation
Tuesday, April 14, 2009 In the last excursion of the season, the UCSD Dance team ventured all the way to Daytona Beach, Florida for the National Dance Association Collegiate Championships. With teams from Hawaii, Minnesota, and even Japan, it was the most challenging event of the year. On Thursday April 9, 2009 the team fought in the preliminary round to be chosen as the top scoring teams of Division 2. Hearing they made it to the Final round of competition gave them hope and determination for finishing the year off well. The team practiced hard for several hours the night before the day that these girls had been waiting for all year. At the last chance to prove their ability, talent, teamwork, and enthusiasm, the girls were awarded 7th place among a very selective group of dance teams from throughout the country.
