GENESIZZLE SPRINTS TO MEN'S AAA FOOTBALL TITLE! They Defeat FIJI, 27-12 To Win The Big One.

They say speed kills, and perhaps it does, but you certainly wouldn't get an argument from the Fiji football team this past Saturday after their Men's AAA Championship game.

The current pride of IFC gave it their best effort Saturday but couldn't cope with the electric open field game of Genesizzle (5-0). 'Sizzle has plenty of weapons and they laid them out for all to see in the final.

Their 27-12 win capped an extremely impressive playoff run that included a pair of 26-20 wins in the quarters (against Sigma Nu) and the semis (against Juggernauts).

With any combination of skill, speed, and football instincts, you will usually find a very successful team, and let there be no doubt. Genesizzle has IT! Congrats fellas, it was a sensational run.

SCRUBS SCRAMBLE TO WIN MEN'S AA FOOTBALL FINAL! 26-24 Win Over Unbeaten Green Bowl Packers Is Playoff's Biggest Upset.

In the Intramural Sports business, you learn never to count anyone out once the playoffs start. Never!

Too many things can happen, too many things can get crazy when you least expect them.

Such was the case the past weekend in Men's AA Football championship game as an often overlooked Scrubs squad gave the previously undefeated Green Bowl Packers the absolute game of their lives to win the title, 26-24.

The win punctuated a serious run through the playoffs with preliminary wins over a couple of very solid teams (IRPS, 27-6 and Remember The Tritons, 21-12). Their 7-1 overall season record pushed them clearly to the edges of the elite class of IM football teams that played this season regardless of division. Congratulations, boys! As well done as it gets.

RUN TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP STARTS SATURDAY FOR INDOOR SOCCER POWER TEAMS! Final Fours In Three Different Divisions Kick-In This Weekend.

Time for the bloodletting to begin.

Huh? We're talking Coed Indoor Soccer semifinals, everybody. Not for the faint of heart. No way. It's competition at its best and its right here on our campus. Believe that or not.

The 2009 Coed Indoor Soccer championships play to conclusion this Saturday, Sunday, and yes in one instance, Monday night.

We have nothing but the best left. Four stellar survivors in each of three divisions: Coed AA, Coed A Gold, Coed A White.

Only one team (FC Guadalajara) is still unbeaten, untied on the season. Most every team that is left has been had some where along the line, but also has played well enough to get to this point.

So, let the games begin. Right? And who will come out on top? Who knows. It'll be a prognosticators nightmare for sure.
