IM FOOTBALL GETS BUSY THIS PAST WEEKEND! First Week Winners, (Pike, Paul's Wood, En Fuego, Jetsons, Los Cabrones, Gammas) Look Impressive.

The first games of the 2008 football season hit the North Campus turf this past weekend and couldn't have come at a better time.

With the weather and environment picture perfect, our university's version of college football was underway with a 40 game schedule of pass-it-here, run-it-there offensive action that left spectator purists looking toward future weeks and participants looking for ice and post-game massages.

Let's face it, folks. Our players were showing layers of rust that may not come off for a month. But, hey. They were all out there competing. And in a week or so, the games will be much more compelling...guaranteed.

A handful of teams, however, were ready to go and they, in turn, showed it with nice solid wins in their openers. Best of the bunch on Friday and Saturday were these who may be heard from on a regular basis around here:

Men's AAA Paul's Wood def. Sigma Chi, 14-13
Men's AA En Fuego def. KCCC, 26-0
Men's AA Jetsons def. Off Constantly, 25-0
Men's A Gammas def. Cali All-Stars, 26-6
Men's A Los Cabrones def. The Redeem Team, 24-19.

Monday Night Football at the NCR Fields continues the opening weekend of play with a full slate of games this coming Monday night (Oct 6th) at 6pm and 7pm.

COED TEAM TENNIS, COED INDOOR SOCCER SIGN-UPS ARE UP NEXT THIS TUESDAY AFTERNOON!
Team Registration Meetings Are Scheduled For 4pm (Tennis), 5pm (Soccer) In The RIMAC Green Room.

The next series of team registration meeting for IM Sports this quarter are back upon us.

The following team sports will hold team sign-up meetings this week:

Coed Team Tennis (2 men, 2 women) on Tues, Oct 7th at 4pm
Coed Indoor Soccer (3 men, 3 women) on Tues, Oct 7th at 5pm
3-On-3 Basketball (3 men or 3 women aside)on Wed, Oct 8th at 5pm.
